David Corlew is an actor, singer, and multi-instrumentalist that performs, teaches, and music directs in New York, Chicago, and regionally. He recently completed the 2023 Disney on Classic tour playing Gaston throughout Japan.
Corlew’s work covers a wide breadth of styles across multiple art forms. He is a veteran of the two-person, four-hand piano whodunit, MURDER FOR TWO, as well as a ready contributor to actor-musician productions like ONCE where he can apply his skills as a multi-instrumentalist. He has been seen on stage regionally at the Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Peninsula Players Theatre, Hangar Theatre, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago, among others. As a budding baritone, he gravitates toward the works of Handel and Mozart.
Previously one of half a trapeze duo, he remains a sought-after coach. A graduate of the Professional Training Program at the New England Center for Circus Arts, he has been the porter for four different duo trapeze acts, studied with Chloé Farah and Aimée Hancock, performed in several original circus-theatre productions, sharpened his skillset as an aerial choreographer under Sylvia Hernandez-Distasi, and distinguished himself as coach and teacher around Chicago.
