About

David Corlew is a New York-based actor, singer, and multi-instrumentalist.

He recently had his network television debut with a guest spot on Law and Order, spent 2023 traveling across Japan as Gaston in Disney-on-Classic’s symphonic concert of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and is a veteran of the two-person, four-hand piano whodunit, MURDER FOR TWO, as well as a ready contributor to other actor-musician productions where he can apply his skills as a violinist, violist, and guitarist. His theatrical work has been seen on stage regionally at the likes of the Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare, and Peninsula Players, among others. As an actor, he prizes works that find humor in the midst of problem-solving and finds inspiration in playwrights like Lisa Kron, David Lindsay-Abaire, Bess Wohl, and David Adjimi and television series like Fleabag, The Good Fight, and Modern Family. He would consider getting into a fight to play Mercutio, Algernon, the Count in Nozze di Figaro, or any character in a Noel Coward play.

While his focus lies primarily on his work as an actor, Corlew was previously one of half a trapeze duo and remains a sought-after coach.  A graduate of the Professional Training Program at the New England Center for Circus Arts, he has been the porter for four different duo trapeze acts, studied with Chloé Farah and Aimée Hancock, performed in several original circus-theatre productions, sharpened his skillset as an aerial choreographer under Sylvia Hernandez-Distasi, and distinguished himself as coach and teacher around Chicago before relocating to New York.
